A SPECIAL PLACE BY US, FOR YOU.

Pukekura — The Parade is a design led development by Te Atiawa Iwi Holdings LP, who have curated a team of award-winning architects, landscape designers, engineers and builders with exacting standards.

Pukekura — The Parade is situated within the traditional heartland of Ngāti Te Whiti hapū of Te Atiawa Iwi.

Ngāti Te Whiti exercise mana whenua over the area, which is surrounded by numerous pā and papakāinga including Puke Ariki, Te Kawau, Pūkākā, Māwhera, Pūkiekie and Waimanu.

Historically, Pukekura was a large plateau, with a gully system of waterways including the Huatoki River which was a significant food source. The area is a naturally high point in the landscape.

Following British settlement, the area became a part of the New Plymouth township and during the Taranaki Land Wars, the Pukekura site was part of the ‘Parade Ground’ for the British Troops stationed in a barracks on nearby Pūkākā Pā.

The development name Pukekura — The Parade reflects the importance of this area to Ngāti Te Whiti and respects the dual heritage of the area.
