Project Update March 2025.

Pukekura – The Parade is a very active site, with the Livingstone Building crew working on all the essentials that happen before the ‘vertical build’ starts. An important project milestone has happened, with the site now connected to New Plymouth City Council mains on Pendarves street (the pipes owned and maintained by the Council that supply water, wastewater, and stormwater services).

But before we get into more detail, construction is notorious for its technical speak – so here’s a few definitions to help demystify it all: “Pouring” = concreting. “Footings”= the bottom part of the foundation. “Slab” = a flat, horizontal surface made of cast concrete, which the timber framed walls sit on. “Standing up” = Literally as it sounds: the start of the vertical build. “Masonry block” = concrete blocks, stacked to form a retaining wall. “Civil works” = infrastructure and site prep (including earthmoving, foundations, and essential services e.g. three waters(drinking/waste/storm), drainage, power and telecommunications, roading/footpaths/dish channels and other access works.

What has happened onsite recently:

  • Digging of footings to Groups A, B, C and H.
  • Tying and placing reinforcing to Groups C and H.
  • Pouring of Group H footings.
  • Installation of the waste and storm water system continues (70% complete).
  • Installation of the Cirtex smart soak system (innovative underground stormwater attenuation system).
  • Excavation of the new main entrance (off Pendarves Street).
  • Installation of Group D & E slab formwork.
  • Pouring of slabs for Groups D & E.

What’s coming up next:

  • Pouring the footings for Groups A, B and C.
  • Masonry block retaining to Groups A, B, C and H.
  • Completing the remaining civil work onsite.
  • Hardfill installed to the new entrance way.
  • Standing up the frames and trusses for Group E – the vertical build starts! Civils work.

Sales Update:

17/36 Townhouses are now either sold, under contract or on hold. Already high enquiry levels have built further momentum in keeping with the
activity onsite, and word is definitely spreading. The project has enjoyed a spike in enquiries during Te Matatini o Te Kāhui Maunga 2025,
WOMAD also the recent long weekend. We are actively promoting the development online through digital campaigns and local information
evenings.
